Students rewarded for their hard work and resilience
We are celebrating with our students today who have been fairly rewarded with strong outcomes following a year of uncertainty and a mix of face to face and remote learning. They have worked incredibly hard with staff this year to provide a strong foundation for their future.
We pride ourselves on offering a balance between a pursuit for academic excellence alongside personalised pastoral care with the added complexity of managing this remotely for many of our students.
We are on an exciting journey at the school and our Year 11 community have been a credit to the school and the town of Shrewsbury. Their outcomes show that even during a difficult year, their determination and resilience really pays off.
Head of School at Shrewsbury Academy, Julie Johnson added: “We have worked hard to ensure any remote learning has been a smooth transition from face to face learning and our students have adapted extremely well. I am delighted for them all, they have worked hard and all been fairly rewarded with today’s results. I know our students will go on to great things and I am proud to have supported them on this journey. Since joining The Marches Academy Trust, the school has gone from strength to strength and we continue to strive for success ensuring our students remain at the centre of everything we do.”

The Grove School celebrates great achievements
The Grove School celebrates outstanding achievements for students this summer with their GCSE results. We are delighted to see that our students have shown amazing determination and resilience in the last 18 months leading to well-deserved results that will equip them well for their future.
Exceptional performance has been seen from; Emily Taylor who achieved 9 grade 9’s and 1 grade 8, Jade Guildford who achieved 5 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s and 2 grade 7’s and Harry Beath who achieved 6 grade 9’s, 3 grade 8’s and 1 grade 5. Rebecca Bridge made the most progress across the year. Well done to all.
We look forward to welcoming many of our students back to Grove Sixth Form which also celebrated tremendous results earlier this week with all our students securing their first choice of university.

Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”

Woodlands School celebrates with students
We are continuing the great achievements within the Marches Academy Trust with a solid set of GCSE results.
Grades represent the hard work and commitment from students combined with the professional and controlled grading from staff which show a realistic representation of achievement.
We are delighted for our students; it is a great relief to finally know that even during strange times that the hard work has been rewarded. Woodlands School prides itself on offering a balance between supporting students to achieve the very best they are able to academically alongside personalised, specialist pastoral care to enable them to become successful as they move onto the next steps in their education.
Students have shown resilience this year to provide a strong foundation for their future. Staff have been working incredibly hard to ensure all students have the opportunity to pursue the future they aspire to.

We are celebrating today with all our students, with a strong set of well-deserved exam outcomes.
The students have shown incredible resilience all year with staff and students working as a team, showing great care for each other over the last two years.
We thank all our parents, carers and families and the community for their role in supporting our young people.
We are welcoming many students back into our Sixth Form for both A level and BTEC courses and are looking forward to what the next two years will bring. We wish the very best to our students entering the world of work and apprenticeships and to those starting courses at local colleges.

Sir John Talbot’s School continues to celebrate excellent outcomes
Students at Sir John Talbot’s School are celebrating with their teachers as they are awarded some superb GCSE results following an exceptionally challenging year. Students have demonstrated commitment and tenacity in their approach to rigorous internal assessments; we are so proud of everything they have achieved. Students have been supported by both their teachers and their parents who have developed a strong working partnership, which has been key to so many students achieving their potential.
It is exciting that so many of our students will be able to continue their studies at Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form, where many will go on to study at top universities or enter an apprenticeship.
Head of School for Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form, Tim Stonall added: “Today is a time for celebration, not only for the strong outcomes but to recognise the maturity and determination these students have shown over the past two years. We wish our students every success for the future, and I am pleased we have supported them on their journey.
